Surprises & Blueberries

Impromptu road trip down to Florida to surprise my mom (and the rest of the family) for her birthday was a success. 3AM arrivals, my dad falling asleep 5 minutes before I got to the house, having to wake up Rexley - Surprise! I’m here, now open the door!, lots of food, coffee and Piranhaconda with Kristopher: all in all a fantastic trip. It was nice to be with family again after 6 months.

Pre-July 4 events included blueberry picking with Nirali and Jeremy. An interesting trip to say the least. Nirali ate them all before they got in the bucket. And there weren’t a whole bunch of blueberries to be picked, so we came back with less than a gallon. Half of which went into a blueberry pie that I baked, from scratch, for the first time ever. It didn’t turn out half bad. Yay me! - Insert congratulatory pat on the back here. -

We ended the the night with fireworks at the Veteran’s Park here in Collegedale. Complete with Star Wars theme music. Star Wars, America, and fireworks. What’s not to love?
