Concerts. Life. Nash City.

I have had quite the week. There’s not much to say about it, except it has been eventful. Lots to think about, lots to do. To give you a taste of what’s been going on: last Thursday, my friend Kayce and I drove down to Atlanta to see Foster the People, The Kooks, and Kimbra. Performance was fantastic, as anticipated.

Then, last night Taylor and I drove up to Nashville for the opening night of Anberlin’s acoustic tour, with Monsters Calling Home and Mychal Cohen as the opening acts. The show was nothing short of spectacular. The Mercy Lounge was a small, intimate venue for the show, so I got close enough to get some pretty good shots; not to mention the people we were close to didn’t seem to mind that I was snapping away with my camera (yay for small victories!). During the encore, Anberlin pulled out a surprise guest - Dave Elkin’s, from Mae, came out and performed a song with them. Needless to say, my inner fangirl heart was exploding with delight.

The show reached its end, then Taylor and I hung out for a bit, snagged a set list, took some photos, and began the journey home. Arriving home at 3am, I crawled into bed, and realized I was still awake - let’s just forget that I was dozing off in the car on the way home. Why is it that I can be exhausted for hours, but the instant my head connects with my pillow, sleep eludes me. Ahh, things I may never fully understand.
